How you can help yourself:

• Be aware that you are not alone. Millions of couples all over world are in the same spate as you, at any given time. Be in touch with such people through forums. They provide valuable emotional support to you.

• Never blame yourself or the partner for your (couple) infertility. Face and challenge it as a couple but not individually. His/her problem is your problem too.

• Don't care tuppence what others talk and rumor about your situation.  Ignore them

• Remember, sex is for enjoyment, intimacy, and physical and emotional oneness. Children are secondary. They will come your way if you keep yourself away from anxiety about pregnancy, but do your part.

• Don’t do sex as a ritual. Don’t do it mechanically. Be playful, innovative, interesting and enjoyable during sex.

• Know that sexual challenges do occur during this time. Feel free to discuss these problems with your doctor even if (s)he does not ask.

• When your partner is overpowered by emotions, give all the support you can. Find alone time for just the two of you.

• Play together, work together, pursue your interests together.

• Make sure you don’t think or talk about infertility all the time.

• Seek help from a sex counselor if necessary.
